Letter to Santa

I know how busy you are in these upcoming holidays, but I was wondering if you could spare a few minutes to read this letter. I am fully aware that you are busy tending to the toys that the good children get, and was wondering if you could give me a special item I have been longing for. I have been wanting to get an iPad for myself. And as a foolish way to show I am a good child, my mother would also love one. She is hardworking and is the best mother anyone could ask for.
I know that the iPad is a personal item, and that I would probably be very selfish with it, as I am now with the iPod. I am also fully aware that it would not be a help to any others but me. I would just like this for me, and afterwards I can give my iPod to one of my cousins.
I am asking for this for no special reason, as I would just love to have one. I know that I haven’t been the best of children, I know my grades are poor, and I know that I might as well get a lump of coal, but I’ve been trying. Even if you can’t get one for me, I would be very happy if you got my mother one. But, even though, I would be ecstatic if you would be so kind as to present one to me as well.
So, as to not bother you any further, I will end this letter. I am very grateful of you for reading this, and I wish you a very merry Christmas!

Yours truly,
Liliana Garcia

Holiday Customs

Many people celebrate Christmas and in many different ways. The general way to celebrate Christmas is to set up a tree and stockings for presents. But that's not all to it. The other details are what are interesting! Yo are probably used to the traditional opening of presents and eating a great feast, like I am, but some people do something different someplace else! Its amazing to know about what other people do for Christmas, like we do now! What they do every year on the 25 of December could be so unusual and different to us! Like what we call Santa. What we are used to is Santa Claus or Kris Kringle, but did you know that his name is Papai Noel in Brazil? Or that he is called Shengdan Laoren in China? In Chile they call him Viejo Pascuero and in Dutch his name is Sinter Klaas! In England Father Christmas and in Europe Saint Nicholas. There are a lot more out there but then that would probably take up the entire page! So you see, there are alot more customs to celebrating Christmas than what we are used to, and a lot more names for Santa than we would believe!
